September 13th 16:02 Cost Management

UK businesses using facilities management cost reduction process could be among those to benefit from a forthcoming industry event.

The Forum of Private Businesses (FPB) has arranged a number of seminars in order to demonstrate the impact that having an online presence could mean for firms.

It follows the organisation's discovery that almost a quarter (21 per cent) of UK businesses do not have their own website.

FPB spokesman Phil McCabe said: "We believe that having a website may not be right for every single small business, for a variety of reasons.

"However, the vast majority of small firms should, by now, have at least some form of online presence – they are missing out on valuable sales and marketing opportunities if they don't."

The seminars will cover a number of topics including search engine optimimastion and web design.

Mr McCabe also noted that around 80 per cent of people now use the internet as their starting point when looking for products and services.
