UK businesses using facilities management cost reduction processes to maximise their profits could be set to see finance become easier to access.

Business minister Mark Prisk recently met with leading financial experts in order to discuss a plan of action to make funding more available to small businesses in the UK.

The discussion follows the end of a consultation period on the coalition's Green Paper regarding business finance.

According to the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills, the meeting is the first stage in turning some of the ideas in put forward in the consultation into a reality.

Mr Prisk commented: "Small businesses will be critical to the economic recovery and helping them access a range of finance options is essential for those firms looking to expand and grow.

"We want to work with business to find the best solutions for increasing finance to small firms, who have previously relied on banks for their finance."
