Could firms using facilities management benefit from flexible working?

August 2nd 16:24 Cost Management

UK businesses using facilities management cost reduction processes could be among those to be encouraged by recent comments regarding flexible working.

Communications giant Orange has claimed that by offering workers a more flexible working model, businesses will benefit from "significant opportunities" to save both time and money.

The organisation has urged firms to allow employees to work remotely and to move away from the standard nine-to-five office-based practice.

Max Taylor, director of corporate marketing at Orange, part of new company Everything Everywhere, said: "By understanding the benefits that flexible working can have on a business, bosses can be better prepared to embrace the practice.

"Allowing employees to work flexibly actually presents a significant opportunity for businesses to save money and improve employee morale."

It comments come as a recent Orange study showed that 57 per cent of current graduates feel flexible working will be standard procedure when they enter the workplace.
