Will govt's freedom initiative aid firms using facilities management cost reduction processes?

A number of businesses in the UK could stand to benefit from a new initiative announced by the government.
Earlier today (July 1st) the coalition unveiled a new Freedom website, which invites businesses and individuals to let the government know which laws and regulations they would like to see abolished.
The launch follows the publication of a report by the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC), which showed that UK firms have spent £88 billion complying with various laws and regulations since 1998.
Commenting on the initiative, Mike Cherry, FSB policy chairman, said: "Giving the public and business owners the chance to shape the regulation and legislation which directly affects them is a welcome move by the government.
"Small businesses want to grow, but are stifled by red tape and excessive legislation … we have seen similar initiatives from previous administrations and we hope that the government puts the needs of the 4.8 million small businesses in the UK first."
