Will falling confidence lead employers to adopt facilities management cost reduction processes?

July 14th 16:20 Cost Management

Employers all around the UK have suffered a dip in confidence, according to a new report.

This could inspire a number of businesses in the country to adopt facilities management cost reduction processes in a bid to increase their profit margins and boost their confidence.

Recently-released data from the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) has shown that UK employers are "increasingly uncertain" about their hiring intentions in the current economic climate.

Roger Tweedy, the REC's director of research, commented: "The uncertainty of the wider global economic situation and the contents of the much anticipated emergency Budget have made it difficult for employers to be more positive about their hiring intentions at this stage.

"The longer term trends are encouraging but we may now have to wait until the autumn for further positive momentum to return to the labour market."

According to the report, short term confidence in hiring temporary and contract workers has also dipped, despite these working models traditionally being used by firms looking to reduce their costs.
