Firms using facilities management could be boosted by expert's comments

UK Businesses that are using facilities management cost reduction processes could be among those to be encouraged by the recent comment of one expert.

According to the Forum of Private Businesses (FPB) there are only a few firms that are solely reliant on the public sector for business.

The comments follow the launch of the coalition government's new regional growth fund, which is set to see £1 billion invested into areas that are particularly affected by public sector spending cuts.

Chris Gorman, a spokesperson for the FPB, said that while the fund can only be a good thing, UK businesses are well equipped to deal with private sector activity.

"I think there are very few who rely solely on public sector work. Some might rely on it quite heavily, but I think they have all got experience of both sides of the coin," he said.

"Whichever way you look at it, drawing vast amounts of money from the economy is going to affect businesses one way or the other. I think everyone will feel the pain to some extent, even if you are a business who doesn't do any public sector work whatsoever."
