Could businesses using facilities management cost reduction processes benefit from blogging?

A number of businesses using facilities management as a way of reducing their costs could be encouraged by one expert's comments to add a blog to their website.

Customer relationship management, data and digital marketing and training service provider Navigate Consulting has suggested that businesses could receive a boost by adding a regular blog to their sites.

Nick Baggot, the firm's founder, said blogging can have a "very clear role" in a wider business strategy.

"Blogging is about thought leadership and sharing opinions and a much more personalised view of things, whereas your site is about promoting your business and your services. A blog is good for reputation management as well," he explained.

"Blogs are dynamic and can be quickly and easily updated without the need for great expertise and this is of particular benefit to small businesses."

Recent research by EPiServer showed that only 34 per cent of firms update their blogs on a regular basis.
