Businesses in the UK could be encouraged to use the services of facilities management providers following Vince Cable's announcement that he is to crack down on tax avoidance.

The business secretary has vowed to ensure that all individuals and businesses the UK "pay their share" of the tax contribution.

"This new government will be working towards a tax system that is robust and fair and everyone pays their share," he told the Telegraph.

"Tackling tax avoidance by businesses is essential and this is an area that I will be looking at closely in my new role."

However, complying with tax legislation could be set to become a less arduous task for businesses after George Osborne announced that he is to simplify the system.
