Could facilities management cost control and a new chip and pin system save pharmacies money?

Independent pharmacy businesses in the UK are being offered the chance to reduce their operating costs with a new chip and pin system.

The offer could be attractive to a number of firms that are already reducing their businesses costs with the assistance of an effective facilities management provider.

Leading payment solution provider Anderson Zaks has announced the launch of the new system, which it claimed helps businesses avoid paying costly rental fees for merchant terminals.

According to CSY Retail Systems, the first EPOS provider to deploy the new solution, pharmacies are saving "at least £50 per month".

Ross Pierrepont, CSY's chief executive officer, said: "Customers are seeing significant savings from using this system.

"We already have several hundred independent pharmacies signed up and we are bringing on new ones each month. In conjunction with Anderson Zaks we know that we have approvals from all UK acquiring banks to offer this service."
