The comments could be of interest to a number of companies that are currently using facilities management cost control processes to improve their profit margins.

Nisyst, a leading provider of EPOS solutions, said a number of businesses have missed out on technological advancement by adopting a "make do" attitude during the economic crisis.

Bob Chunilal, the company's managing director, said implementing a new EPOS system could offer "business efficiencies and cost savings" to a number of firms.

"A good example of this is where a number of our own clients have added an online retail sales channel to their business model since the start of the recession so that they can reach far larger target audiences and improve their own brand recognition," he said

"At the same time the right system allows better staff time utilisation and greatly improves profitability."
