Facilities management users could benefit from new recovery centre

Businesses using facilities management for cost reduction purposes could be among those to benefit from the launch of a new recovery centre.

Firms based in the north-east of England can now rely on being thrown a lifeline should they suffer from a major IT loss or another type of disaster.

Networking and storage solutions specialist Willow Starcom has unveiled a new Workplace Recovery Centre (WRC).

The Lancashire-based firm said the centre will allow companies that are victims of IT hardware failures, fires, thefts, floods and vandalism can avoid going out of business by using the centre.

According to the organisation, the WRC allows firms to get "up and running" as soon as possible following a disaster by offering pre-equipped workstations, secure servers and other business essentials.

Darren Harrison, Willow Starcom's technical director, said: "Insurance alone is not enough to keep businesses that are forced, through totally unforeseen events, to relocate.

"Quite simply, they cease to be able to trade. What we are offering companies through the Workplace Recovery Centre is minimal disruption to business operations."
