DSG set for expansion

April 9th 16:23 Cost Management

DSG, the group behind successful computer and electronic retailers PC World and Curry's, has announced plans to expand the two chains.

The move could leave the firm looking to employ an effective facilities management service provider as the plans involve the opening of around 85 new stores.

DSG claimed it has identified around 70 potential sites for larger-sized Curry's megastores and hopes to have 25 of the units open in time for this years Christmas rush.

The group also revealed plans to open 60 "two-in-one" stores incorporating both the PC World and Curry's brands.

It comes as DSG continues its Renewal and Transformation plan, which it insists is firmly on track.

John Browett, the firm's chief executive, said: "The new store formats are popular with customers, particularly the Megastores and the combined 2-in-1 stores.

"The next twelve months will be another busy period as we roll out the improved proposition and introduce more services to more of our customers with an unbeatable combination of value, choice and service."
