Could UK firms benefit from new data loss software?

April 16th 15:41 Cost Management

UK businesses that are looking to amend their IT services in the wake of new Information Commissioner powers could be among those to benefit from the launch of new security products.

It was recently announced that businesses suffering data losses, such as customer credit card details, could be fined up to £500,000 by the commissioner.

In a bid to allow firms to increase the security of their data, Symantec, a market leader in IT security, has launched four new security suites aimed at delivering "in-depth" protection, greater visibility to compliance risks, data loss prevention and operating costs reductions.

Francis deSouza, senior vice president of the Enterprise Security Group at Symantec, said: "When it comes to preventing cyber attacks and protecting intellectual property theft, the game has completely changed.

"Organisations now require security that moves at the pace of their business and enables them to reduce overall IT security risk, not just stops the latest malware attack."
