Could political 'abandonment' inspire use of facilities management?

A number of firms operating in the UK could be encouraged to seek the help of an effective facilities management provider following the publication of a new report.

Research conducted by price comparison website uSwitch.com has revealed that three-quarters of small business owners feel the current government has not done enough to help them through the recession.

The study also showed that 39 per cent feel none of the parties vying for election have announced policies that reflect their interests.

Jake Ridge, uSwitch.com's small business expert, commented: "Small businesses are vital to the wealth and wellbeing of the nation. They are the backbone of Britain, accounting for over half of all private sector employment and private sector turnover.

"For this alone they deserve to be heard, which is why it's so worrying that so few believe the main political parties have small business interests at heart."

The leaders of the three main parties have one last chance to reach a mass audience in tonight's (April 29th) live TV debate ahead of the May 6th election.

Almost one-third of the survey's respondents said they are looking for the next government to make the UK a more competitive market by reducing the amount of taxation, regulation and red tape faced by British businesses.
