HSE initiative to benefit Slough businesses

March 29th 16:19 Health and Safety

Small and medium-sized businesses in Slough are set to benefit from new safety advice from the Health and Safety Executive.

The department has teamed up with Slough Borough Council, local business groups and a range of organisations including The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) and the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service to create the Estates Excellence project.

As part of the initiative, specially-trained staff will visit a number of firms based on the industrial estates in the area in order to provide up to date information on occupational health and safety issues.

Bala Subramnian from the FSB said: "What's so great about Estates Excellence is that it has absolutely no cost to small businesses themselves and that they get a fast and effective way of improving their health and safety.

"Working together, lots of organisations in and around Slough are offering their expertise for free and around two hundred and fifty small businesses will be given a health and safety boost as a result."

The free nature of the project means it could prove beneficial to those company's currently employing an effective facilities management provider to assist with cost management.
