Employers unhappy with costs of recruitment

January 20th 16:01 Cost Management

Employers in the UK are becoming increasingly frustrated with the costs involved in external recruitment, according to a new report.

A survey by industry organisation TalentPuzzle revealed that 76 per cent of companies do not feel they are receiving value for money from the recruitment sector.

The report also revealed that UK firms shell out more than £2.6 billion per year on external recruitment.

This could lead to a number of organisations looking into effective facilities management as a way to cut costs.

Virginia Raemy, chief executive of TalentPuzzle, said: "A lot of employers are looking for better ways to recruit.

"They are looking to reduce their fees, and wanting to pay lower fees obviously increases the friction between the employers and the recruiters."

According to the report, a further 77 per cent of employers are frustrated with inconsistencies between rates and rebates, with some paying between 25 and 30 per cent on placement fees.
