Remote working 'has benefits for businesses'

November 20th 17:14 Cost Management

Implementing remote working technology can help businesses improve efficiency.

This is the view of director of ecommerce for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at GoToMyPC Andrew Millard, who suggested that flexible working polices can help businesses - particularly smaller firms - to "thrive".

It will also contribute towards a company's carbon reduction commitment, he remarked, adding: "Our traditional nine-to-five lifestyles are outdated and businesses of all sizes that realise this and take action now will benefit in the short and long-term."

Such a move may also help to lower the cost of running an office due to decreasing the cost of electricity and other utilities, something that could assist enterprises that are looking to reduce their facilities management expenditure.

He was commenting after figures produced by Kelton Research showed that 23 per cent of employers at small and medium-sized businesses have their employees work away from the office at least once a week and 51 per cent plan to increase their remote access offerings over the next six months.ADNFCR-2717-ID-19471774-ADNFCR
