Kent firefighters join HSE safety initiative

November 25th 17:20 Health and Safety

Kent Fire and Rescue Service has joined a new initiative aimed at offering advice to businesses in the south-east.

The Estates Excellence scheme, which is organised by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), helps to provide businesses operating on industrial estates with assistance regarding safety standards, something that may benefit companies involved with facilities management.

Issues such as cutting red tape, improving efficiency and getting health and safety right are all covered and Heather Bryant, projects director of Estates Excellence at the HSE, welcomed the fact that Kent Fire and Rescue Service has joined the initiative, which was set up in response to demand from companies in the area.

"There has been a great response from business to this work and we aim to help all eligible Kent businesses as well as many others in the coming weeks," she remarked.

The HSE recently offered advice to construction firms in Lanarkshire, Scotland, giving them tips on how to cut down on the risk of their employees contracting silicosis.ADNFCR-2717-ID-19479628-ADNFCR
