Those involved in facilities management in Yorkshire could benefit from a Health and Safety Executive (HSE) campaign launched in the area.
The organisation is teaming up with Leeds City Council in a bid to reduce accidents and work-related injuries.
Over the next two weeks, officials will visit premises to assess the procedures and systems in place, with business owners in the target areas having already been issued guidance as to what is required.
Principal inspector at the HSE John Rowe explained that working together in such a way will be beneficial, as those best placed to make changes within organisations will be implementing changes.
"Companies will be given all the support they need to turn their workplaces into safer, healthier working environments," he said.
It comes after the HSE launched a campaign in Scotland, with information packs being distributed in a bid to lower deaths as a result of exposure to asbestos.
