Chemical guidance to boost facilities management safety?

November 6th 17:26 Health and Safety

New information about handling dangerous substances has been published that could help to improve safety within the facilities management sector.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has made available a revised version of its Working with substances hazardous to health guidelines, which are designed to be easy to use.

Small companies helped the organisation to modify the document as part of one of the HSE's new goals to assist this segment with compliance.

Commenting, spokesman Steve Coldrick remarked: "This is an example of how we are working with small businesses to provide them with the practical advice they need to protect their employees' health."

The HSE claims the publication has already been praised by representatives of this sector for its user-friendliness.

Earlier this month, the HSE launched a new safety campaign geared towards raising awareness of the dangers of asbestos. More than £1 million is being spent on the initiative.ADNFCR-2717-ID-19448212-ADNFCR
