Ever since I first carried my father’s briefcase at the age of 13 I have been mesmerised by the art of true salesmanship. My own approach has always been one of integrity and understanding client’s needs and in all my years – ‘man and boy before the mast’ – never has there been a truer expression than the work ethic that I adhere to – 99% perspiration 1% inspiration.

I value the good things in life – a glass of Rioja, time with my wife, grown up children and granddaughter, the occasional cruise to the Mediterranean and England winning the rugby world cup. Similarly work is important to me, after all – by the time we retire most of us will have worked the equivalent of at least 18 years (24hrs a day) at the work place.

I have worked in a variety of companies large and small, national and international and over the years developed great relationships with colleagues, clients and businesses alike. I am delighted to be joining Nickleby at this time where there is such an emphasis on working as a team to provide the right services for everyone we deal with.

As a lifelong Manchester City supporter (as I am actually from Manchester!!), I am used to adversity, the odd disappointment and occasional triumph. In sales nothing could be truer – people buy off people – you just have to accept that one day you are the statue and on another day you are the pigeon! I am the new boy at Nickleby but I predict that the coming months and years, working with such a dynamic team with such a worthwhile quality product, should see me as the pigeon rather than the statue.
